Dondra is on the most southern point in Sri Lanka, a medium sized fishing port fishing port where you can arrange whale watching tours during the peak months December, January and April. Reef and beach break east of the town is not consistent and only works when there are good swell. The open sea is rough round there with strong rips, if you paddle out too far the next time you see land will be Antarctica.
